Retrieve SMS Messages

The Recording API enables customers to retrieve SMS messages, after receiving a [webhook notification]. Use the [Recording API] to retrieve the associated message, including its content, using the identifier recording_id provided in the notification. The partner platform calls this endpoint using the recording_id received in the webhook to fetch the full message text (content) and metadata, allowing the partner app to reconstruct unified conversation history.

Use Cases​

  • Unified Enterprise Conversation History: 1GLOBAL captures inbound and outbound SMS and synchronizes events and content to the partner platform. This allows the partner client to reconstruct end-to-end conversation threads with external contacts.
  • Privacy-First Architecture: The SMS Message content is encrypted at rest and pulled on-demand only by authorized enterprise tenants subject to market-specific retention rules.

Pre-requisities​

  • Valid API client credentials for obtaining a Bearer JWT.
  • Your account must be provisioned by 1GLOBAL for the SMS recording service.
  • The recording_api entitlement is enabled for your account.
  • Your API client has the recordings.read permission for the relevant account.
  • The requested message must be within its configured retention period.

Example Response

The successful response returns with a 200 status code and the content of the measaasge for the specified recording_id.
